Collective Worship

Hawthorn took part in a whole school collective worship about hope. The children thought about what hope means and why it is important in difficult times. They listened to a message about believing that things can get better and how showing kindness and supporting others can bring hope to people. The worship helped the children reflect on how they can share hope in their school and community.

D.T - Debating

In their R.E. lesson, Year 4 debated whether Adam and Eve were right to eat the apple. The class listened to the story and then shared their opinions. Some children argued that Adam and Eve were wrong because they disobeyed God’s rule. Others said they might have been curious or tricked by the serpent. The debate helped the children practise sharing ideas and listening to different viewpoints.

Welcome Back

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year. It has been fantastic to welcome the children back to school, and they returned full of enthusiasm and ready to learn. Despite coming back on a very cold and icy day, the children settled quickly and impressed us with how well they engaged in their lessons straight away.

We have lots of exciting learning planned for this half-term. The children have already begun their new topics, including India in Geography, where they will explore the country’s culture, landmarks and geography, and States of Matter in Science, where they will investigate solids, liquids and gases through practical and engaging activities. We are really looking forward to a busy and enjoyable half-term.
