This week has been incredibly busy and exciting for everyone! We have spent lots of time preparing for our upcoming performance of Joseph, with several dress rehearsals helping us to build confidence and bring the show together. Alongside this, we have continued a full week of learning across all subjects, showing great focus and enthusiasm.

We also took part in a SCARF workshop, where we explored important themes around wellbeing and personal development. In Science, the children enjoyed getting hands-on with a range of experiments, developing our curiosity and investigative skills. To top it all off, we attended a cricket assembly, which inspired us and introduced new skills and teamwork ideas.

The children are all really looking forward to performing our play to parents next week. Finally, we would like to say a huge thank you to families for their support with the play—helping with lines, costumes, and encouragement at home has made a real difference.

This week has been a very exciting and busy one for our children as we celebrated World Book Day and took part in Careers Week. For World Book Day, everyone enjoyed sharing their favourite stories, dressing up as book characters, and taking part in fun reading activities that helped bring books to life.

During Careers Week, we were lucky to welcome several special visitors who told us about their jobs and the important work they do. A nurse, some police officers, and a hairdresser all came to visit, and the children loved learning about the different skills needed for each role and asking lots of thoughtful questions. It was a fantastic week full of learning, imagination, and inspiration for the future.

A Wonderful First Week!

Welcome back! We hope you all had a wonderful and restful half-term break. It has been fantastic to see the children return to school ready to learn and full of enthusiasm.

In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of money. The children have been adding, multiplying and dividing amounts, using both written methods and practical problem-solving activities. They have shown great confidence when working out totals and calculating change.

In English, we explored the features of a playscript. The children chose from several fun prompts and created their own imaginative scripts, focusing on dialogue, stage directions and character expression. It has been wonderful to see their creativity shine.

In Science, we began our new topic on sound. We investigated pitch and discussed how sounds can be high or low depending on vibrations. The class enjoyed exploring how different sounds are made. In History, we started learning about the Vikings. We discussed who they were, where they came from and why they travelled to Britain. The children are already asking some fantastic questions!

Finally, we were very excited to step onto the stage for the first time to begin rehearsals for our production of Joseph! It was a wonderful experience to start putting the performance together, and we are all looking forward to the rehearsals ahead.
