Great Fire of London Workshop

Great Fire of London workshop form The Museums Heritage Service

Today Year 2 had a visit from Sam from the Museums Heritage Service. The children really impressed her with how much they already knew about the Great Fire of London, and she was amazed at all the facts the children had remembered from their lessons! They then looked at artefacts from the period such as an old map, a lantern, a leather bucket and a fire hook, and the children compared London then to today. Next, they tried writing with a feathered quill and ink, copying the alphabet in Tudor style lettering. After that, the children all had a go at making a 'human chain' to pass a bucket of water down and try to put out a 'fire'. Everyone had a fantastic morning and really showed off their fantastic knowledge. Well done Maple Class!
