Year 3 recently enjoyed an exciting school trip to the Bath and West Showground for the Field to Food Learning Day. We had a great day and learnt so much about farming and where our food comes from.
During our visit, we saw lots of different farm animals, including Highland cows, sheep, pigs and dogs. One of the highlights of the day was a fantastic dog show by a gun dog called Fig and her owner. We loved watching Fig show off her skills!
We also had the chance to taste some delicious ice cream, which was a real treat. Another fun activity was having a go at milking a pretend cow, which helped us understand how milk is collected on farms. We even learnt about how sheep are sheared and why this is important. Learning about tractors was another interesting part of the day. We couldn't believe how tall the tractor wheels were compared to us!
It was a brilliant day full of fun and learning, and we all came back with lots of new knowledge about farming.
