We're Going on a Bear Hunt!
Pear Class went on their very own bear hunt this week, after discovering that a cheeky bear had somehow got into our school over the weekend! The children became detectives as they searched around the school, following clues and trying to work out where our bear could be hiding.
After our exciting adventure, we used everything we had discovered to write a recount of our bear hunt. The children did a fantastic job of remembering the events in the correct order and describing what happened along the way. It was a wonderful way to bring our writing to life – although we're not quite sure where that bear will turn up next!

Exploring Our Senses
This week in Pear Class, we have been learning all about our five senses and how they help us to explore and understand the world around us. We had a fantastic time taking part in a rotation of sensory stations, giving us the chance to put our senses to the test!
We listened to different music, tasted a variety of fruit, looked carefully at ourselves in mirrors, explored different textures by feeling toys and objects, and used our sense of smell to investigate a range of spices. Some of the smells were definitely more popular than others and some of us did not like them at all!
It was a fantastic, hands-on way to learn about our senses, and we had lots of fun along the way!

A Fantastic First Week Back!
We have had a fantastic first week back in Pear Class! The children have settled in brilliantly and have been busy getting back into our routines and enjoying learning together.
In Art, we have been learning all about how to create different types of lines. We looked closely at artwork by Bridget Riley and had a go at copying some of the different lines and patterns we could see. The children really enjoyed experimenting and creating their own lines!
To finish the week, we had PE with our class teachers and enjoyed lots of fun team-building games. It was a great way to work together, have fun and get back into the swing of things!

A very warm welcome to all of our Pear Class children and families! We hope you have had a wonderful summer and are feeling refreshed and ready for an exciting year ahead.
We are so excited to welcome our new Year 1 children and begin our journey together. There will be lots of new things to learn, discover and explore, as well as plenty of opportunities to have fun, make memories and grow in confidence.
We can't wait to see all the amazing things Pear Class will achieve this year. Here's to a fantastic year filled with learning, laughter, friendship and lots of exciting adventures!
