Art Week

We have been busy this week creating artwork inspired by artists from all over the world! In Maths, we studied 2D shapes and applied this knowledge when learning about Kandinksky. The children drew and painted their own inspired art using geometric shapes.

   

We were given the country of Bulgaria to study, and we wrote some amazing information texts in English! Alongside this, we learnt about Christo, a famous Bulgarian artist who wrapped buildings. To celebrate all we had learnt, the children made traditional Bulgarian patterned rugs!

                

Playscripts

To support the children’s understanding of a playscript, we studied the features, identified them in a script and then they had the chance to rehearse and perform a short play to the class! Here you can see a group performing 'The 3 little pigs!'

French- Jacques a dit!

This week in French, the children have been learning vocabulary to play the game 'Simon says'. By learning this vocabulary, they were able to split into small groups and take turns saying the commands. Phrases such as 'jump' and 'touch your nose' could be heard, and the classroom was filled with the sound of French vocabulary!

Hello, Year 4!

Welcome to Hickory Class! We hope you’ve had a fantastic break and are feeling refreshed, happy and ready for a brand-new term.

We have lots of exciting learning, fun challenges and adventures ahead of us. There will be plenty of opportunities to learn new things, make wonderful memories and, most importantly, have fun together!

Remember to always be kind, be curious, be brave and believe in yourself. Every one of you has something special to bring to our class.
