Understanding Our Emotions

Year 6 had an incredibly useful talk about understanding their emotions this week. The children learnt about different areas of the brain and why we can have different responses to certain situations. They also learnt about strategies on how to manage them, including building our own 'calm kit'.

Data Packets

As part of their computing curriculum, Sycamore Class were learning about how data is transferred across the internet. The children wrote their own messages and split them into small pieces (called packets) to be shared with their friends. These messages then had to be reassembled and put into the correct order – just like a computer has to do.

Traditional Polish Art (Wycinanki)

To prepare for the upcoming Arts Week, Sycamore Class were learning about (and trying to replicate) the traditional Polish paper-cutting art of wycinanki. It was great fun and resulted in some superb creations.

Welcome Back Sycamore Class

It has been great to see everyone back in school today for a fantastic first day. The children have adapted to life in Year 6 already and all signs point to this being an incredible year. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
