Maya Maths, Mysterious Glyphs and More!

We have made an exciting start to our Ancient Maya history topic in Mulberry Class! The children were intrigued to discover how the Maya created a number system using dots (pebbles), bars (sticks) and shells, before putting their knowledge to the test by solving Maya maths problems of their own.

We also explored Maya writing and compared their fascinating system of glyphs with the hieroglyphics used by the Ancient Egyptians. The children thoroughly enjoyed creating their own Maya glyphs and produced some impressive designs.

Traditional Polish Art – Wycinanki

Mulberry Class have been getting creative in preparation for our upcoming Arts Week! We explored the beautiful traditional Polish art of wycinanki, which involves carefully cutting and layering colourful paper to create striking, intricate designs.

The children had great fun experimenting with this fascinating art form and produced some fantastic, eye-catching creations. We were so impressed with their creativity and attention to detail!

Welcome Back Mulberry Class

What a brilliant start to Year 6! Mulberry Class have had a fantastic first day, settling quickly into their new routines and rising to the expectations of Year 6.

The children have worked incredibly hard and impressed us with their positive attitudes, enthusiasm and determination. We are already so proud of them and cannot wait to see what the year ahead brings. It’s going to be a fantastic year in Mulberry Class!
