Outdoor Maths

We made the most of the sunshine by taking our Maths learning outdoors for a fun-filled week of practical activities! The children worked brilliantly in teams, applying their mathematical skills in a range of exciting challenges.

First, we played a game of bowling, adding together our team's scores to find our totals. We then tested our aim by throwing beanbags into hoops and once again used our addition skills to calculate our scores. Next, we took part in a long jump challenge, measuring each jump carefully and working out the difference between the shortest and longest jumps.

To finish, the children recorded and wrote up their results, using the data they had collected throughout the activities. It was a fantastic way to bring Maths to life, combining learning, teamwork, and plenty of fun in the sunshine!
