After completing our work on comparing weights using the language “heavier” and “lighter,” we moved on to measuring objects around the classroom, in small groups, using cubes. The weighing activity was a great success. We measured a few items together as a class too—one shoe weighed 111 cubes! The children enjoyed counting them all using their knowledge of counting in 5s.
