During the heatwave, we had a smaller number of children in school and made sure that everyone stayed safe in the hot weather. We made the most of the cooler temperatures by going outside first thing in the morning to read books and play with toys before it became too hot.
When the temperature rose, we came back inside and found some fun ways to keep cool. The children enjoyed having their very own 'foot spas' by filling trays with cold water and cooling their feet, and they also made their own fans to help keep the heat away. For one afternoon we relocated to the Art room for a cooler climate and got creative making animal artwork using the outline of our hands.
Despite the warm weather, we had lots of fun and did a fantastic job of looking after ourselves and each other!
