Sacred Spaces
Year 4 entered the R.E art competition for Sacred spaces. Our artwork shows that sacred spaces are not just places we visit, but something we carry inside us. In the centre, we used tin foil to create a mirror. When we look into it, we do not just see our faces—we see ourselves as part of something special. It helps us think about our own sacred spaces and what matters most to us.
Around the mirror, we painted different sacred places. We also wanted to show that sacred spaces are not only buildings. Some people find sacred spaces in nature, like the sky, rivers, or quiet places. That is why we added clouds around the mirror. Inside the clouds, we wrote words about sacred spaces. Clouds can be a symbol of God’s presence. In the Bible, God is sometimes shown in a cloud, reminding people that God is everywhere.
The mirror is the most important part of our work. It shows that we can find the sacred inside ourselves.
