    • Our Last Full Week!

      Published 17/07/26

As we come to the end of our final full week in Year 4, I couldn't be prouder of this incredible class. It has been a wonderful week filled with fun activities, laughter, teamwork and lots of special memories. The children have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, kindness and positivity, and it has been a joy to see their amazing personalities shine through in everything they have done. Watching their confidence grow, their friendships flourish and their resilience develop throughout the year has been a real privilege. Each and every one of them has worked so hard and should be incredibly proud of all they have achieved. I would like to wish them all the very best as they move on to Year 5-I know they will continue to grow, succeed and shine. Good luck, Hickory! You have been an absolute pleasure to teach, and I am so proud of every single one of you. 🌟

    • Our Wonderful Week

      Published 12/06/26

This week has been a busy and exciting one across the curriculum!

In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of rounding. We have practised rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and beyond, and used our skills to solve problems and check our answers. This has helped the children become more confident when working with larger numbers.

In English, we have been focusing on setting descriptions. We explored how writers create atmosphere using ambitious vocabulary, figurative language and careful word choices. We then used these ideas to write our own detailed descriptions that help the reader picture a place clearly.

In RE, we have been learning about religious symbols. We have discussed what symbols represent and why they are important in different faiths. We looked at how symbols can express beliefs, values and traditions in powerful ways.

We also took part in our Dare to Dream Day, where we learned about the importance of setting goals and believing in ourselves. We thought carefully about our own ambitions and how having confidence and determination can help us achieve great things in the future.

Overall, it has been a creative and inspiring week of learning, and we are proud of the progress the students have made across all subjects.
