  • A Delicious December in Year 6

From Classroom to Christmas Dining Room

Year 6 had a fantastic time creating their very own Christmas dinner as part of the DT curriculum. The Art and DT studio was soon filled with the sounds of busy preparation as the children peeled potatoes and carrots. They learned valuable food preparation skills along the way. Teamwork, patience and careful knife skills were all on display.

Whilst the chefs were busy, the children transformed Sycamore's classroom into a festive dining space. It was complete with handmade decorations and personalised place settings. The children took great pride in creating a warm, Christmas-themed atmosphere ready for their special meal.

Excitement grew as lunch was served! There were plenty of clear plates, which was a sure sign of success. The roast potatoes were a big hit and the Christmas chocolate log was a firm favourite for dessert.

After pulling crackers and enjoying the results of their hard work, it seems that Mulberry and Sycamore classes may have discovered some future chief potato peelers. They look ready to lend a helping hand with Christmas lunch at home this year.
