Mulberry Class recently took part in a fencing workshop, where they were introduced to the basics of the sport. They learned how to stand in the correct en garde position, how to hold their foil properly, and why balance and distance are so important.
Wearing fencing masks, the children practised their footwork, focusing on advancing and retreating with control. They showed good concentration as they developed these new skills and grew more confident as the session went on.
Once they were ready, the pupils paired up for friendly, supervised bouts, putting what they had learned into practice. It was great to see Mulberry Class supporting one another and demonstrating wonderful behaviour throughout.
The workshop was an enjoyable way for the class to build coordination, focus and confidence while trying something new.
