  • Week 9 Overview

What an exciting Science Week we’ve had in Year 1!

We began by reading The Three Little Pigs, which inspired some fantastic descriptive retells. The children did a brilliant job bringing the story to life with their writing.

Our History learning continued as we explored Victorian homes, describing their features and thinking about how they compare to homes today.

In Maths, we challenged ourselves by adding three numbers together, using practical methods and building our confidence step by step.

We also designed our own fruit desserts, carefully choosing ingredients we like and thinking about how our final creations will look and taste.

Science was full of hands-on exploration this week! We investigated magnets, testing different materials to find out which were magnetic and which were not.

To finish the week, we carried out a full-day science investigation, exploring which material would be best for a waterproof coat. The children loved testing, observing and discussing their results like real scientists!

A fantastic week of discovery, creativity and scientific thinking! 🔬✨
