  • A Powerful Start

Hornbeam Class have had an exciting start to their new science topic, Forces. To begin their learning journey, the children explored key vocabulary that will support them throughout the unit.

They worked collaboratively to discuss and define important scientific terms such as gravityfrictionair resistance and upthrust. The class showed fantastic curiosity, sharing their prior knowledge and making thoughtful predictions about what each term might mean before refining their understanding together.

Through engaging discussions and activities, the children began to understand how forces act upon objects and how they influence movement in the world around us. It was wonderful to see pupils using scientific language confidently and beginning to make links to real-life examples.

This strong start has laid excellent foundations for the rest of the topic, and we are looking forward to seeing Hornbeam continue to develop their scientific thinking and enquiry skills in the coming weeks.
