  • Characters Come to Life in Hornbeam

Hornbeam Class had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day, filled with creativity, imagination and a shared love of reading.

The children enjoyed getting crafty by transforming paper plates into their favourite book characters. From well-known classics to modern favourites, it was fantastic to see such a wide range of stories represented and brought to life. The pupils took great care in their designs and proudly shared their creations with one another, explaining why they had chosen their character.

As part of our celebration, we also spent time reading our class text, The Boy at the Back of the Class. The story sparked thoughtful discussions, with children reflecting on themes of friendship, kindness and empathy.

World Book Day was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate reading across the class, and it was lovely to see such enthusiasm and engagement from all pupils. We look forward to continuing our reading journey together!
