Arts Week 2026

To celebrate Arts week this year, we have been looking at the work of Wassily Kandinsky from Russia. As this year's theme is 'cultural connections', each class is researching and being inspired by an artist from a country of one of our students in our school. Using watercolours, oil pastels and coloured card, we recreated "Squares with Concentric Circles". The finished artwork was amazing.

 

 

Friday 18th September

In Geography, we went on a walk around the area surrounding our school to look for human and physical features. Everyone enjoyed finding lots of different features, including a bridge, lots of trees and pavements. We sorted these into human and physical features in our geography books when we got back. 

 

16th September 2026

This week, Mr Bourne has been teaching us how to dribble different balls with control. We tried hard to use the equipment carefully and manoeuvre our balls around obstacles.

10th September 2026

We have had a great start to the new term and everyone has settled in really quickly. We have started our new art unit of work: Map It Out. We looked at images of real and imaginary maps and then created our own maps of our routes to school. We used a mixture of colouring pencils and oil pastels. Everyone did a fantastic job! Well done, Cedar Class!
