Belonging

Belonging

We want all our children to feel a strong sense of belonging to promote their own self-esteem and wellbeing.

We ensure all of our children have a 'voice' and encourage them to share their ideas and suggestions through means such as our School Council and Collective Worship sessions.

Invincibles Military club

To ensure we provide a sense of belonging to our service families, we run our Invincibles Military club the third Friday of every month for our service premium children.  The children come together to work as a group on things that matter to them.

Our service children always play a pivitol role in National occasions and celebrations such as the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Remembrance Day and the upcoming Coronation of King Charles III.

World Thinking Day/Remembrance Day

As a school, we believe it is important for our children to represent clubs and organisations they belong to both in and out of school.

On events such as World Thinking Day, children are encouraged to wear the uniforms of the organisation they belong to such as: Guides, Scouts, Cubs, Brownies, Rainbows, Beavers and Rainbows.

Family Learning

Children across the school experience time with their families to share their learning experience with them.  We encourage our families to feel part of our school community through family learning experience at key points throughout children's learning journey with us.

Family learning focuses on the following areas:

  • In EYFS, children share a series of fun phonics sessions with their adults
  • In Year 1, children undertake a half day 3D mask making workshop with a local artist
  • In Year 2, adults are invited to share a circus skills workshop with their child
  • In Year 3, adults are invited to share in a series of maths workshops
  • In Year 6, adults are invited to share a safer internet workshop.

Parents welcome the opportunity to share in their children's development and experience learning first hand; we are extremely fortunate to have our own specialist Family Learning Teacher.

Whole School Pantomime

Every December, our whole school visit the theatre to watch the pantomime. This exceptional opportunity is funded by our highly active PTA and offer children a unique experience with their peers; this embeds their sense of belonging to a community.
