Year 1 had an amazing time in Weston-super-Mare visiting the sand sculptures and trying to make our own masterpieces! We also had a great time eating our lunch on the beach and riding the very friendly donkeys.
In Pine Class, we have been working hard to recycle some of the trees that had to be removed from our school field.
We used all our energy as we rubbed down some large logs, using sanding blocks and we are now waiting for them to be varnished before we can move them, in a wheelbarrow to the willow dome to make new seats. See above.
Noah's Ark Zoo Farm
Year 1 had a wonderful time at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm. The tractor ride was very bumpy but we enjoyed it. We saw some amazing animals throughout the day but everybody loved the miniature Shetland Pony. Bottle feeding the lamb was hard work, we didn’t realise how strong the lambs were. We loved the lioness and her cubs. The cubs were big even though they were only 6 months old! See below.
The Year 1 children have been busy relocating our daffodils before the workmen start our new hall extension.
We dug some big holes, then we planted the bulbs, most of us managed to get the daffodils into the hole with the green leaves pointing upwards!!
Emily from the Dog Trust visited us to explain to us about how to keep ourselves safe around dogs. We were interested in the information she shared with us and we loved Buster, her stuffed dog.
Today, Year 1 made bread as part of our Harvest celebrations.
Pine Class enjoyed spending time with Mr Frisby, they enjoyed making him a card and saying goodbye as he retired (see above).
We are busy in Pear Class with our Maths, additions adding one more (see below).
We had great fun using the natural environment. We collected a range of Autumn leaves and seeds to make natural shakers.
We have been practising jumping and landing in our gymnastic lessons. We have been experimenting with star jumps and straight jumps.
We made our own number lines using digit cards and cubes. We worked as a team to make a number line from 1 to 20.
Pear Class enjoyed a recent PE session with Mr Bourne.
