Health and Safety Compliance Officer
Required as soon as possible
37 hours per week, term time only, 1 week of Inset Days + flexible working
Grade 10 £25,325 to £28,882 (depending on experience)
This is an opportunity to join PPAT at an exciting time. The Health and Safety Compliance Officer will work closely across our Academies to provide expert support and guidance that has a measurable impact on the quality of experience of each of our pupils.
Working alongside colleagues, this role will focus on Health and Safety Compliance activities. With a focus on developing, reviewing and embedding excellent policy and practice, this work will provide assurance to all levels of our organisation. You will ideally be qualified in a relevant field and bring knowledge and experience of Health and Safety and a range of compliance areas within schools (or similar environments).
The successful candidate will be able to learn, understand and apply relevant working processes and will be able to identify development innovative solutions to problems including the on-going development of systems and processes. The post holder will be able to make quick, informed high quality decisions.
Strong interpersonal skills are a key requirement for the role. You will be confident in building excellent work relationships to enable you to successfully work with, provide guidance and influence colleagues in a variety of roles from across the organisation.
The ideal candidate will be hard working and enthusiastic with a flexible attitude to use initiative to work to manage and prioritise a varied and busy workload responding to changing priorities and deadlines.
Key duties include:
Ensure good compliance and policy management in academies, including Critical Incident and Business Continuity planning.
Attend and/or chair relevant committees and working groups within the Academies you support.
Ensure high quality compliance policies, processes and systems are in place, including but not limited to Health and Safety, GDPR, Freedom of Information and complaints. Support the development and maintenance of a positive culture of safety and compliance.
Undertake and review Health & Safety and compliance related audits for the Academies.
Oversee the development of local plans to deliver Academy Health & Safety and compliance priorities and monitor progress against plans.
Review training coverage and support the delivery of Academy Health & Safety and compliance training where appropriate.
Support the CEO and Trust Business Manager to investigate accidents as required.
Oversee the production of Health & Safety and Compliance reports to Academy Board and contribute to reports to other governance audiences.
Contribute to the mitigation of relevant Academy risks.

Nursery Practitioners (Keypersons) Bank Staff
An opportunity has arisen within our Trust for Nursery Practitioners (Keypersons) to join our delightful nursery as bank staff.
The Keyperson’s role is to offer a consistently excellent level of child care within the safe and secure environment of Little Kingfishers’ Day Nursery, in Yeovil.
Required as necessary
Hours – on an ad hoc basis when required
Salary Grade 15.9 – 15.13 (Depending on experience)
Salary is paid on a pro-rata basis – term time only
The successful applicant will be working in our beautiful new building supporting all aspects of the children's development with regards to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
You will also be required to undertake duties associated with the day to day operation of the Nursery to the standard defined in the Nursery policies and procedures. Individuals are responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children in their care.
Little Kingfishers’ Day Nursery is open five days per week Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 6.00pm.
Qualifications and Skills
You will need to have a childcare qualification at Level 3 (or equivalent) and experience in childcare.
Safeguarding qualifications and food hygiene level 2 are desired but not essential.
