Gratitude is the feeling of appreciation or thanks towards someone or something.

It’s recognising the good things in life and acknowledging the people, experiences, or even moments that contribute to well-being and happiness.

Gratitude plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and nurturing environment for our pupils. By teaching children to recognise and appreciate the good things in their lives, we can help cultivate a sense of thankfulness and contentment. Activities such as class discussions about what students are thankful for can reinforce these values. Additionally, incorporating stories, songs, and art projects that emphasise gratitude can make the learning process engaging and memorable. By embedding gratitude into the daily routine, we can help children develop a lifelong habit of appreciation, leading to improved mental well-being and stronger interpersonal relationships.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Colossians 3:15: “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

Psalm 100:4: “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.”

1 Chronicles 16:34: “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

Jesus teaches us about Gratitude through the parable of Feeding the 5000.
