Integrity means being honest and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. We explain this to the children using examples like finding a toy and giving it back to the person it belongs to rather than keeping it. It means being truthful and fair.

What this means for our pupils:

  • Honesty: Telling the truth, even if it’s hard. For example, admitting if you made a mistake or forgot to do your homework.
  • Fairness: Treating everyone equally and playing by the rules. This means not cheating in games or taking turns properly.
  • Responsibility: Doing what you say you will do. If you promise to help a friend or complete a task, you follow through.
  • Respect: Being kind and considerate to others. This includes listening when someone else is talking and not taking things that aren’t yours.

Integrity helps create a positive and trusting environment where everyone feels safe and respected.

Proverbs 20:11: “Even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright.”

Proverbs 10:9: “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.”

Proverbs 12:22: “The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.”

Proverbs 28:6: “Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.”

Psalm 25:21: “May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you."
