Safety
We ensure our children have the skills to be safe both in and out of school. Safety education is embedded throughout our curriculum and children of all ages are taught about how to keep themselves and their bodies safe.
We receive annual visits from the Life Education bus and welcome visits from community nurses to enhance our PHSE/RSE curriculums.
Children in Year 5 and 6, are provided with an opportunity to undertake the Bikeability scheme to learn how to ride their bike on the road safely.

Internet Safety
As a school, we hold our Internet Safety 360o award. Our Digital Leaders meet regularly to promote internet safety.
We promote a culture of safe internet use as part of our every day practice. In addition, all children received formal education on internet safety every term as part of their computing curriculum; all children understand who to talk to if they see anything that makes them feel unsafe or uncomfortable.

Safeguarding
We ensure that all our children and safe and happy. Children understand who they can tell if any situation makes them feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Our DSLs ensure that staff understand how to report incidents and the procedures they must follow. At Preston, our DSLs are:
Mrs Claire Hodgson (Lead DLS, Head)
Mrs Sarah Hann (Deputy DSL, Deputy Head)
Mrs Rachel Mann
Mrs Tracy Haines
In addition, we hold NSPCC workshops to educate the children on staying safe such as 'NSPCC Pants workshop'.
