Physical health

Physically healthy

We offer all children to opportunities to develop an understanding of how to keep physically and mentally healthy.  Our curriculum provides a wealth of curriculum and enrichment opportunities for children to stay active and live healthy lives.

Enrichment opportunies

We strive to seek new and exciting ways to engage our children in sports to promote a healthy lifestyle.  This academic year, we have sought opportunities for children in: Taekwondo, fencing, table tennis, street surfing, sports science; we continue to seek out new opportunities to engage our children's curiosity for learning.

Healthy Eating

We promote healthy eating throughout the school through a number of different ways.  Classes have run a 'healthy snack' system whereby children are encouraged to bring in healthy break time snacks.  In addition, we run after school cookery sessions in Year 2 and Year 6 to teach children how to prepare and cook healthy snacks and meals.

Year 6 Bude Residential

We believe that all children should be offered the opportunity to develop their independence and try new skills in a safe and secure environment. Our Year 6 children are given the opportunity to attend the Year 6 residential in Bude, Cornwall.  Whilst there, children get to try their hand at activities such as: body boarding, caving and high wires alongside a range of evening activities; the memories the children make last a lifetime.

Change4Life

We run a weekly after school Change4Life club to ensure children have provision to activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.  The club runs throughout the year undertaking activities such as@ treasure hunts, archery and healthy cooking.
