THIS IS ME

Next week is Children's Mental Health Awareness week and this year's theme is 'Express Yourself'. With that idea in mind, we thought it would be a great opportunity for your child to express themselves creatively by completing a special art activity! Every child in the school has been invited to become part of a collaborative art piece which shows the beauty, diversity and unique personalities of every child here at Preston Primary.

The task is simple- Each child is being asked to draw/paint/colour/collage/sculpt an image that represents them. This is to be done on a 10cm x 10cm square of paper or card, and each year group has to complete their images using one specific colour only. Year 4's colour is Yellow. When the children are all back in school, we will then collect in their 'tile' which we will then build into a large rainbow made up of squares made by every child in every year group.

This task is not meant to be arduous or a hassle, but a nice opportunity for your child to spend time thinking about what makes them special and unique. If you do have not art materials at home, then you child can add the colour when we return to school.

We hope this is okay, full details can be found on the attached poster and also on the class webpage. The deadline for entries is when we return to school- whenever that may be! But we do ask you to start it during next week as that is when it is Children's Mental Health Week. We would also love to see photographs of any finished piece.

Thank you so much for your never-ending support and we are looking forward to creating something so special and welcoming for visitors to the school.
