How quickly can you say that? I bet a lot quicker than it takes to make this AWESOME Maya mask design! If you're up for a challenge, this will make a mask that will fit on your head (if you use A4 size paper) and be an amazing creation to be really proud of! To go extra jazzy, print the templates on to coloured paper or use regular white paper to then colour in as you go. A slightly heavier gauge paper (or card) is HIGHLY recommended as it helps to keep its shape as you build. We have also linked some picture designs if you want a mindful colouring exercise.
Wednesday 27th January marks Holocaust Memorial Day. As students learned in their WWII history topic, millions of Jewish and other minority groups were persecuted by the Nazis in the 1930s and 40s. The deliberate targeting and killing of groups of people is called genocide and sadly there have been other examples throughout history. By marking HMD 2021, we show an understanding of these events and a solidarity in working together to recognise and celebrate differences, rather than hate people because of them. We have posted a short presentation below which includes a cook-a-long to make Challah, a Jewish bread. If you do decide to make Challah, we would LOVE to see the results!
Just in case you want to prepare for Friday, here are the basic recipes we will be following. Fingers crossed for Mrs Sherry's approval this week...
In preparation for Safer Internet Day 2021, we want to try and understand how the internet works and how data is sent around the world. Sometimes though, we have to start with the basics and just what is a computer? You can edit the PowerPoint or print and write on the PDF document (whichever is your preference) and fill out the major components of a computer. If you get stuck, you can watch the video for help or if you're REALLY stuck or want to check your work, the answer PDF is also uploaded below.
