By the end of KS2, we want children to understand that:

That the term invasion refers to people forcefully entering someone else’s land
That the term settlement refers to people making a new home and community in a place
Throughout history, groups have invaded and settled in new areas for different reasons
Invasions can lead to a change in power and this can change how people live and their culture
Settlements can grow into towns and cities over time
