As part of World Book Day, the whole school will be invited to come to a school dressed as a character from a book, where the story is taken from the culture and country the book choice from their individual year group. Each year group will be assigned a country and they will choose a book they are able to share together creating reviews and looking for similarities and differences between the cultures. Each class will share the stories with other classes from a different age range to discuss the stories they have read. Opportunities will allow for some drama to take place retelling the story. Not only will the children be involved in reading the books but also looking at the related geography, traditions, music and languages. Using online resources, the teachers will be encouraged to use the WBD website where there will be many books and activities to chooses during the day. Teachers have discussed that they would like to introduce some music to the day and we will monitor this availability with the restrictions.
