School Council

Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.

Meet our 2023-2024 School Council Representatives:

Our School Council Representatives have been duly elected by their class to represent the views of their peers to make our school a better place.

The School Council's aims are:

  • to make the school a better place
  • to keep the school clean
  • to improve the school
  • to help our community

Our Council is made up of 2 representatives from Years 3, 4, 5 & 6, usually chosen by their peers and class teacher.  The Council meets regularly during term time to work on particular projects.

This year, we have chosen Book Aid International as our charity.

In the words of Book Aid...

"We see the power of books every day.

It’s a new library opening in a school that’s never had one. It’s a midwife using the latest medical textbook to save a baby’s life. It’s a family escaping into a story after being forced to flee their home.

It’s a path to a more equal future.

A single book can transform dozens of lives – offering joy, inspiration and hope. It can be taken anywhere, without Wi-Fi or a charger. Wherever you are in the world, a book can fire you up to work for a better tomorrow.

Books give people power – so we work every day to create a world where everyone has access to books."

Book Aid works with 185 partners around the world – from national library services to community groups that run mobile libraries for refugees. They say which books will help people build a more equal future, and they do everything in our power to provide the books they need.
