School Council 2022-2023

A Special Visitor! (Children's Hospice South West)

Kylie from Children's Hospice South West kindly visited the School Council to explain how the hospice works, what the wonderful staff do to help poorly children and how our fundraising has helped them do this. The children asked some brilliant questions and now know exactly why raising awareness of this fantastic charity is so important!

Charity Non-Uniform Day

The School Council have kindly helped to organise a non-school uniform day to raise money for our school charity, Children's Hospice South West, who provide care for children with life-limiting illnesses. We are so proud to support this amazing cause and thank everyone who donated!

January 2022

This week, we held an assembly to the whole school to remind them how we have lots of nice things, but we are here to listen to everyone and improve the school.

Projects and suggestions this year:

- More books for classrooms (lots already bought )

- More equipment for breaktimes

- Waffles/pancakes at Breakfast Club

- Gluten free snacks at Tuck Shop

We are now working with the PTA to get a new buddy bench and Trim Trail as suggested by pupils.

This week, some of our School Council were extremely lucky to meet with the Mayor of Yeovil! We discussed what it's like to be part of a council, how we can make sure we listen to everyone's ideas and what we can do to keep improving our community.

The School Council met with Mrs Hodgson this week to discuss their role in the school and what we can do to keep improving it. Of course, the conversation was made even better with cake!
