Den Making

Year 5 have been using their DT skills and knowledge to make dens. They reused pieces of Christmas tree as their roofing material in the interest of 'reduce, reuse, recycle!' They have learnt about how to make stable and strong structures using triangles to give them added strength. They have learned to use mallets, tent pegs and guy ropes safely. Knot tying was a good challenge with slippy, wet ropes! Their team work and resilience in some very wet weather was excellent. Year 5 - you should be very proud of yourselves!
